The inspiration for this website came from the challenges & frustration that I've seen my mother endure from lack of resources for the disabled. My mother, Linda Howard, has had MS for almost 20 years. Every funeral, basketball game and church service that she attempts to attend in a "handicap accessible" facility turns out to be a disaster. She has looked for resources on grocery delivery, beauty services, and errand services, all with little success. All of this in addition to the ever-confusing Medicare rules makes the life of a physically challenged individual very frustrating!

In researching organizations and business that could help my mother and others, I found that there is some fantastic work being done to help the physically challenged! I created Housecalls Network to act as a portal that connects these resources to the people that need them. I decided to focus on the Minneapolis/St. Paul area to ensure that the resources listed on the site are convenient and personalized. Some of the shopping and home services ideas can help busy, working families, many of whom are called upon to take care of an aging parent.

So keep this site in mind for yourself, an aging or disabled person you know and their caregivers.
